Mike Clark

Coach Mike Clark brings over four decades of experience to Puget Sound Volleyball Academy, where he is entering his ninth season. A longtime player, coach, and student of the game, Mike has made a lasting impact at every level of volleyball he’s touched. Since joining PSVBA, he has qualified five teams for Junior Nationals (2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2025) and has consistently led his teams to top finishes in Power League, regional tournaments, and national qualifiers.

Mike is known throughout the volleyball community for his kind and patient demeanor. His athletes thrive in environments built on mutual respect, consistency, and steady leadership. He is a true teacher of the game, combining deep tactical knowledge with a calm, intentional coaching style. Above all, Mike believes that success is measured not just in wins, but in how players develop their skills, confidence, and resilience over the course of a season.

Prior to his time at PSVBA, Mike amassed an impressive coaching resume spanning high school, collegiate, club, and adult volleyball. His teams have captured regional and national titles, and his coaching achievements include a gold medal at the 1985 AAU U19 Junior Nationals with Raindogs VBC and a national championship as head coach of the Super Jock ‘n Jill adult women’s team in 1990. As a player, Mike earned multiple All-American honors at USVBA Nationals and competed internationally, including a gold medal at the 2002 Canadian Open and a silver medal at the 2016 Americas Masters Games.

Mike continues to coach with a heart for the athlete and creates space where players feel seen, supported, and pushed to their highest potential.
